Cake Decorating as an Art Form

Creativity is the way I share my soul with the world. – Brene Brown

For as long as I can remember, baking has been the greatest form of therapy in my life. But it wasn’t until I started decorating cakes almost 10 years ago, that I found my true passion. I could create edible art, making something as beautiful as it was delicious. I love seeing the joy on the face of a customer when they see a vision come to life.

But as much as I love decorating, there is something you should know. Creativity takes work, it’s a choice to let your mind wander. Changing the way your brain works doesn’t happen overnight. Sometimes I even ask my kids for help. Have you ever asked a 6 year old kid for a decorating idea? Do it, you’ll be amazed.

The ability to be creative every day is my favorite thing about working at The Queen’s Cups, and it has been since day one. There is no wrong answer, we have to think outside the box. We work together, we bounce ideas off each other until we come up with the perfect combination. For the first time in my life, I can genuinely say I love my job. Because… what’s not to love? The atmosphere at TQC is infectious, and I’m happy to call it home.
